Viscira® Races for Multiple Myeloma

Viscira Participates in Fundraising Event for Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation

San Francisco, CA - April 23, 2013 Viscira, a leading provider of interactive, new-media communication and technology solutions for the life sciences industry, joined several of its life sciences clients on Sunday, April 7th, for a 5K walk/run event in San Francisco to help raise funds and awareness of multiple myeloma.

“It was a very worthwhile event that we were proud to participate in as a company”, said Dave Gulezian, President & CEO of Viscira. “We have developed product solutions for clients like Onyx and Celgene in the area of multiple myeloma and are familiar with this type of cancer. However, this event helped to personalize the impact that this disease can have for many of us.”

The company plans to make this an annual event and further increase its presence. “Not only is it a great opportunity for Viscira employees to give back, but it is also a chance for employees to bond outside of the workplace,” explained Noël Ashekian, Marketing Communications Manager for Viscira.

About the MMRF Race For Research

Held annually in nine cities across the country -- Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, St. Louis, Tri-State (New Canaan, CT), Twin Cities, and Washington D.C. -- this family friendly 5K walk/run raises both awareness and funds for multiple myeloma. Since its inception in 2001 in Chicago, the MMRF Race for Research program has raised more than $17 million to support the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation’s urgent work.

About the MMRF

The MMRF was founded in 1998 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by twin sisters Karen Andrews and Kathy Giusti, soon after Kathy was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an incurable blood cancer. The mission of the MMRF is to relentlessly pursue innovative means that accelerate the development of next-generation multiple myeloma treatments to extend the lives of patients and lead to a cure.
